We combined a complete flamenco dance experience and complement it with a great workout. This class is perfect for students who have never taken a flamenco dance class before or those with little to no dance experience. This class will focus on the upper body dance techniques, rhythms, and footwork routines, and combine it with short easy-to-learn choreography. Participants will also learn the elements of flamenco music, styles, and Spanish culture.

In this combined-levels class, we will explore flamenco dance techniques and palos (dance styles), in more detail and put it all together in full traditional flamenco choreography. You’ll work on upper body dance techniques including the core body techniques, bracesos/floreos (arms and hands), posture, turns, rhythms, and intricate footwork combinations.
Prerequisite: Level 1 - Students must have completed at least one semester of Basic with Colorado Institute of Flamenco or have equivalent introductory experience in flamenco dance.
Level 2 - Equivalent 1-2 semesters of flamenco dance study.

“Perfect dancing does not attract me, so I don’t care for it. I believe that purity in the flamenco, in the baile,… is imperfect but at the same time beautiful, the unplanned that knocks you out to see it and possibly will never be repeated.”
— Manuela Carrasco, Bailaora
