  • Level 1

    Formerly Basic. This class is perfect for those who have never taken a flamenco dance class before with little to no dance experience, or those looking to brush up on basics. Our Level 1 class focuses on flamenco dance techniques, footwork routines, upper body placement, flamenco rhythms, and combine it with short easy-to-learn choreography. Participants will also learn the elements of flamenco music, styles, and Spanish culture.

  • LEVEL 2 and 3

    For returning students and students with some flamenco dance experience.

    • Saturdays, 11:30 AM - 12:45 PM

    This combined-levels class moves at quicker pace and is designed for intermediate to advance participants. Classes will dig into flamenco dance techniques and palos (dance styles) in more detail and put it all together in full traditional flamenco choreography. You’ll work on upper body dance techniques including the core body techniques, bracesos/floreos (arms and hands), posture, turns, rhythms, and intricate footwork combinations.

    Prerequisite: Level 2 - Students must have completed at least one semester of Level 1 with Colorado Institute of Flamenco or have equivalent introductory experience in flamenco dance.

    Level 3 - Equivalent 1-2 semesters of flamenco dance study.

Perfect dancing does not attract me, so I don’t care for it. I believe that purity in the flamenco, in the baile,… is imperfect but at the same time beautiful, the unplanned that knocks you out to see it and possibly will never be repeated.
