Crossover Week!
Wednesday, February 12

7 PM Level 1 Dance
Crossover Week is a combined applied studies element for flamenco for students and aficionados in guitar, cante (flamenco singing), and Level 1 dance, and what they have learned up to the mid-point of our winter session.
Study Focus: Alegrías
Crossover classes are in relaxed and supportive environment that encourages growth and creativity, and it’s a chance to get to know the other students studying at CIF!

Perfect for those who have had at least 2-sessions of Level 1 or equivalent study in intermediate or Advance in flamenco dance. Classes will take it up a notch with continue focus on technique upper body, footwork, and traditional flamenco choreography.

What it Does
Unlock the passion and beauty of flamenco guitar by mastering the fundamental techniques and rhythms of flamenco guitar. Whether you’re a beginner or have some experience, our course offers a structured path to develop your skills.
What You’ll Do
Learn essential strumming patterns, “picado” (fingerpicking) techniques, and flamenco “palos” (styles) that are key to this vibrant tradition. Our expert instructors will guide you in developing a strong foundation in technique and musical expression.
Immerse yourself in gypsy rhythms, including bulerías, soleá, and alegría, as you explore their unique characteristics. This course not only focuses on technical precision but also emphasizes the emotional depth and cultural significance of flamenco.

Participate in Live Accompaniment
Those individuals who have completed a minimum of one year of study in this particular course are invited to join us for a series of dance classes that will feature live accompaniment.

We need more flamenco singers who possess your unique talent and passion! If you’re interested in delving into the world of flamenco cante, you will be among a select group of individuals who have had the opportunity to learn an important and culturally rich art form in the flamenco tradition. Students with up to one year of study at CIF are invited to join our dance classes, where they can experience the thrill of live accompaniment, enhancing their learning and appreciation of flamenco even more.
